2022 Program launches!
We are a social enterprise focusing on refurbished bicycles: retail stores, repair shops, mobile repair and other business components. But we’re so much more... Community Cycles is a vocational training and transitional employment program for men and women who face barriers in acquiring a living-wage job. We work with veterans, refugees, formerly homeless, formerly incarcerated, people in recovery, and others.
12-Month Paid Vocational and On-the-Job Training Program
Unit 1: Classroom Education
Students learn elements of small business operations:
certified bicycle mechanic, inventory management, customer service, budgeting, management, and much more
Unit 2: Practicum
Students practice what they've learned with on-the-job training
Unit 3: Specialization
Students choose an area of focus and take on leadership roles with philanthropic bicycle program
Upon completion, Community Cycles of California graduates are ready to enter living-wage employment with real world business skills and experiences that are applicable in a variety of environments and enterprises. They can step into that “second first job” with confidence, skills, and experience necessary to raise not only their own quality of life, but for their corner of the community as well.
