Community Cycles of California is a nonprofit bicycle shop with a focus on employment training and community bicycle programs.

The Office and Program Associate is a new position designed to help our office and programs run smoothly. We are a fast-paced, community driven organization, and you will be integral to the success of our operations and programs.

We are a small team who all wear a lot of hats. This means you will have autonomy and we’ll invite you to share your ideas so we can only get better.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

Office & Bookkeeping: Help run the show!

  • Check & and respond to voicemails & emails

  • Data entry & housekeeping for multiple databases & spreadsheets

  • Scanning & uploading documents

  • Keep people up to date on stuff! Communicate with volunteers, vendors, customers & partners via email and mailers

  • Help close those books!

    • Generate reports

    • Process & record invoices

    • Record deposits & withdrawals

Earn-a-Bike Program: Help people get bikes they volunteered for!

  • Check & respond to client voicemails & emails

Here are some awesome extras if you want em’:

  • Keep us on track! Help manage calendar of programs & events

  • Creative or love to write? Help us make presentations, brochures, newsletters, etc.

  • Scholastic? Awesome! Help us prep data & research for grants

Here are some skills you’ll be bringing:

  • Bike expertise. Just kidding! But you do need to know basic office equipment, Office or Google, have email etiquette

  • Self-motivation, competency & attention to details, but also thinking outside the box & creativity

  • Sociable. You’ll be working with people.

Here’s what you get:

  • To create something awesome for the community

  • Be part of a hardworking, but fun-loving team of volunteers, staff, and employment students

  • And snacks. We have snacks!

Here’s what the schedule looks like:

  • We’re looking for a six-month commitment, but would appreciate more

  • Since this is a new position, we guess 10-20 hours per week, but sure would welcome more

  • You’re welcome in during any of the Tuesday-Sunday hours we’re open. Ideally every other day-ish.

Interested? Shoot over an email and let us know why!

Not a match for you? Not to worry, we have other volunteer gigs to check out.
